Finn Hill Family Photographer: Benefits of working with someone local
I recently had a family hire me who said they were looking for a “hyper local photographer” in the Finn Hill area of Kirkland. While at first I thought this was a curious statement I soon saw the benefits of hiring someone from within your immediate community. Let me let you in on a few of them.
As a Finn Hill family photographer, I have several locations that are right around the corner.
Selecting a location near your home is a great idea for busy families. It eliminate the stress of driving a long distance to a photo location when there are beautiful spots right in your own backyard of Kirkland. You’re not setting yourself up for success if your kids fall asleep during a long car ride to your session (mine have done that) or if you’re having to rush home from work extra early to get everyone ready and make it to your session on time.
Choosing a hyper local location in the Finn Hill area also makes you feel more connected to your images. If your family hangs out at or near your family session location, your gallery of photos will feel more authentic to you and this particular time in your life.
Build a sense of community by hiring a Finn Hill family photographer.
One of my favorite things about becoming a photographer is meeting and working with so many families from within my community. When I head to my kids’ schools, I always see familiar faces and as a School Portrait Photographer I’ve worked with hundreds of local kids who I then often see when I head out to eat with my own family. I love feeling connected to my community in this way, and hiring a photographer that lives near you builds that sense of community for your own family.
Hiring a local, Finn Hill family photographer allows you to get references from your own neighbors and friends.
We all feel more comfortable when we’ve done our research, have gotten a referral from a friend, or know a little bit about the person we are hiring. If you don’t know someone who has worked with me, I can give you a referral from someone right in our own community.
You can also check out my blog and about me page which will tell you I am a mom and wife who understands time is fleeting and sees her own kids growing up right before her very eyes (sob!).
As you read more about me, I hope you can relate to me knowing my kids have attended Sandburg Elementary and Finn Hill Middle School and will end up attending Juanita High School. Our originally mid-west family loves to eat at Cactus for their self-proclaimed “non authentic” Mexican food or we enjoy sitting in the summer near the open garage doors while we enjoy Zeke’s Pizza in downtown Kirkland. My husband and kids are huge ice cream affecianados so we usually end our nights out at Sirena Gelato for an affogato or Salt and Straw for their “curiously delicious ice cream”. I inconsistently work out at Columbia Athletic Club (love their Power Up weight lifting classes for an instant mood boost) and stop in at Trader Joe’s in Totem Lake when I need a “one-stop shop” for charcuterie board items for a get-together with the best neighbors in the world right here on the hill.
Most importantly though, I want you to know, I’m right there with you in the daily grind of parenthood. That means, photographing your kids and family comes second nature. I can see the beauty and the love through all the trials and tribulations that is parenthood, and I so want to capture that for you.
